LAS VEGAS, Nev.— Just released, Carlson Software’s all-new Carlson Fleet Manager Office is designed to handle the two-way communications, data transfer, and remote monitoring of machines offering new performance for job site connectivity.

The Carlson Positioning & Machine Control division of Carlson Software has both updated and enhanced its Command & Control data management system to produce this comprehensive software designed for use in construction, landfills and mining.

Fleet Manager Office has new cut/fill color maps.

“Carlson Software developed and installed the first version of Fleet Manager back in 2001,” says Randy Noland, V.P. of Carlson Positioning & Machine Control. “We have taken that extensive experience and, combined with new programming tools, incorporated it into this new version that definitely increases productivity and safety. Fleet Manager Office does just that,” he adds, “by allowing managers on large or small job sites to see and monitor multiple machines in multiple views including plan view using one of the supported wireless infrastructure options.”

One of the top new aspects of this user-friendly, easy-to-learn package is its cut/fill color map, which allows users to see a complete overview of the cut/fill for an entire site at one time.

Managers can see real time machine position, real time cut/fill, and real time elevation at one site or multiple sites from one location. Activity, GPS status, delay/idle or down time can all be monitored and then reporting functions allow these aspects to analyzed. Additional outputs include existing surface from all machines at a job site and density reports for landfills.

Grade projects can be created for an entire fleet, saving the time necessary to do each individually, all with a dynamic change function—make a change in one aspect of the project and it will be updated throughout the system with Carlson Fleet Manager Office.

This scalable remote monitoring tool facilitates productivity analysis and data management while providing avoidance zones and on-site proximity warnings. It also enhances training opportunities and allows for trouble-shooting across many aspects of a job site.

The system transmits through GSM/CDMA cellular, standard wireless and mesh networks. For sites without remote connectivity, data can be stored in the machine and copied to a thumb drive for post analysis. All data is hosted and owned by the user.

“This software benefits strongly from Carlson’s extensive experience with the close managing needs of mining operations,” adds Noland. “This program not only monitors your project site and equipment, it increases safety while saving users time and money and reducing energy use.”

Carlson Fleet Manager Office is available through Carlson’s extensive machine control dealer network.
